Gratton Engages In ASB Program

Students at James Madison University (JMU), Harrisonburg, Va., embarked on alternative spring break (ASB) trips around the country and world this year. The students spent the week serving others while living simply and submerging themselves in the culture of their surroundings.

The student-led ASB trips took place from March 4 to 11. Each trip focused on a social issue, such as homelessness, resettlement, environmentalism or community wellness, in a specific region.

Erica Gratton of Chester Springs was among the students who took part. Gratton, who is studying sport and recreation management, traveled to Treasure Beach, Jamaica, to volunteer with Volunteer in Jamaica Opportunity Network.
