The Great Chapel Picnic will be held at Chapel Church, 3050 Cape Horn Road, Red Lion, on Saturday, July 27, from 2 to 9 p.m. The dining hall will open at 3 p.m., with the ticket line, bazaar stand, music, outside food stands and takeout soup line set to start at 2 p.m.
Musical groups to perform will be the Red Lion-Felton Band, the Chapel Collective, Set Free and White Rose Barbershop. Lawn chairs are needed. This will be a rain-or-shine event.
At the ticket line for the cafeteria dining, guests will be called in groups for available seating from 3 to 7 p.m. Parking will be available in the fields to the rear of the church grove and parish hall, but handicapped-accessible or special-needs parking will be available in the main lot behind the church building. A golf cart shuttle will be available for convenience throughout the day.
For the takeout line for the soup, it is suggested that guests provide their own containers. Soup choices will be clam, ham and bean and chicken corn. Bricker's French Fries and Carmen's Ice Cream will be featured food stands. A bazaar stand and a silent auction will be available throughout the day.
At 7 p.m., the quilts and crafts auction will take place in front of the bandstand. Activities for the youngsters will include cornhole, kickball, face painting, sand art and more.
