The "Buy Nothing Elizabethtown/Bainbridge, PA" Facebook group will hold a Great Gifting Event in the parking lot of Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren, 777 S. Mount Joy St., Elizabethtown, on Saturday, May 22, from 7 a.m. to noon. All residents of the local area are welcome to attend.
Community members are invited to bring items to give away, as well as to browse and take items. People may display gifts in their trunk or on tables and picnic blankets. Attendees are not required to bring items in order to take items. Organizers recommend that anyone giving from a car put a sheet over anything in the car's trunk that they do not intend to gift. Whether giving or just attending, participants are asked to adhere to the COVID recommendations of wearing masks and social distancing.
Attendees are responsible for removing anything that they bring to the event that is not gifted. Participants may make arrangements with a neighbor to take their belongings along with their own.

Those who plan to offer items are welcome to post a preview of some of their items on the "Buy Nothing Elizabethtown/Bainbridge, PA" Facebook page. Anyone who is not a member must request membership before being able to post.
The "Buy Nothing Elizabethtown/Bainbridge, PA" Facebook group is a part of the international Buy Nothing Project, whose mission statement reads, "We offer people a way to give and receive, share, lend, and express gratitude through a worldwide network of hyper-local gift economies in which the true wealth is the web of connections formed between people who are real-life neighbors."
