Guest Speaker To Show Postcards

The Millersville Woman's Club will meet at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 15, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 222 N. George St., Millersville.

Mark W. Arbogast will present early postcard views of the trolley that ran along the Pequea Creek from Millersville to Pequea. The talk will focus on the town of Pequea, located along the Susquehanna River, which was a resort town in the early 1900s and included the River View Hotel. Attendees will also see the miniature railroad that took people to the nearby York Furnace Park, along with old views of Cold Cave.

Arbogast is a retired PPL land manager who worked at both the Holtwood and Brunner power project plants. He is interested in local history and is a postcard collector.

At the meeting, area women can learn more about the club and the scholarships and awards it provides to Penn Manor High School seniors. To learn more, call 717-872-4834 or 717-284-4588.
