Hange, Gehman Receive Honor

Although the American Chemical Society's annual national meeting and expo has been canceled due to the coronavirus, research by students at Albright College, Reading, was vetted and accepted for presentation to the organziation's researchers, scholars and scientists. Local scholars include Albright chemistry majors Shaun Hange, Lancaster, and Zoe Gehman, Birdsboro.

Hange researched "Dihedral Angles in Dialkylated Dimethoxybenzenes and Their Radical Cations: Combined X-Ray Crystallographic, Electrochemical and Computational Study" with Christian S. Hamann, associate professor of chemistry and biochemistry at Albright.

Gehman researched "Synthesis of Ferrocene-Linked Binucleating Ligands for Holding Two Dissimilar Metal Ions" with Nicholas A. Piro, assistant professor of chemistry and biochemistry, and student Tyler Stauffer. This poster was also selected for presentation in Sci-Mix, a special session designed to showcase top presentations.
