The Heritage Chorale of Lancaster will present its spring concert, "Look to the Day," on Sunday, May 1, at 4 p.m. at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 308 Petersburg Road, Lititz, and on Sunday, May 15, at 4 p.m. at New Danville Mennonite Church, 103 Marticville Road, Lancaster.
The selections to be performed span centuries but express the same eternal human emotions and aspirations for the promise of better days ahead. The program will feature "Look to the Day" by John Rutter, "Exultate Justi" by Ludovico Da Viadana, "The Lily and the Rose" by Bob Chilcott, "Et in terra pax" by Thomas Juneau, "An die Musik" by Franz Schubert, "Erev Shel Shoshanim" arranged by Jack Klebanow, "Set Me as a Seal" by Rene Clausen, "Rise Up, My Love, My Fair One" by Healey Willan, "A Basque Lullaby" Dan Forrest, "Let the Life I've Lived Speak for Me" by Gwyneth Walker, "Somebody's Knockin' at Your Day" arranged by Evelyn Larter and "No Time" arranged by Susan Brumfield.
Founded in 1994, The Heritage Chorale of Lancaster is a group of singers dedicated to excellence in the choral art form. With a repertoire spanning the 16th through 21st centuries, the chorale has performed at Colonial Williamsburg, Longwood Gardens, the Washington National Cathedral, and churches and historical institutions throughout the Lancaster County area. The group is led by artistic director Barry L. Sawyer. The Heritage Chorale is a volunteer, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
There is no admission fee. A freewill offering will be received.
