On Saturday, Oct. 5, from 9:30 to 11 a.m., a Halloween Costume Swap for children will be held. Visitors may redeem the tickets they received when they dropped off costumes during September to receive a new-to-you costume.
The third annual Edible Book Contest will be held on Friday, Oct. 25, in celebration of National Friends of the Library Week, from Tuesday, Oct. 22, to Saturday, Oct. 26. Participants are asked to design an edible creation based on the world of books. Entries must be dropped off from 10 a.m. to noon on Oct. 25, and voting will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. The contest is open to children ages 12 to 17, adults age 18 and older, and groups and organizations. Registration forms and contest rules are available at the library's front desk or from its website.
Friends of Hershey Public Library will present a special showing of the 1986 film "Labyrinth" on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 2:30 p.m. The film is rated PG, and the event is open to children age 8 and older with an accompanying adult. Registration is not required.
Trick-or-Treat Story Time for children ages 3 to 5 will be offered from 1:30 to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31. Children are invited to come in costume for a special story time and to trick-or-treat around the library. Registration is not required.
