Hershey Lions Make Donations

The Hershey Lions Club has not taken a break during the COVID-19 pandemic. Although traditional meetings, service projects, and fundraisers have been suspended, the club continues to support the residents of Derry Township.

Recently, the club donated more than $400 to help feed guests of the Ronald McDonald House in Hershey. Families from outside the area whose children are treated at the Penn State Children's Hospital receive temporary lodging and meals while staying at the Ronald McDonald House. In the past, the club set up and served the meals on-site for the guests.

The Hershey Lions Club has also collected monetary donations and nonperishable food for the Hershey Food Bank. Approximately $300 has been collected as of May 9. Members of the club have also contributed to Hummelstown Food Bank Falcon Packs, which provide food to Lower Dauphin School District students in need. The Hershey Lions are also currently reviewing scholarship applications for service-minded local high school students. The recipient will be announced soon.

The club's annual golf tournament normally, scheduled for June, has been postponed until later in the year. For more information, readers may visit http://www.hersheylions.org.
