HighHOPES Horse Program Slated

The HighHOPES Miniature Horse Challenge will be offered at the EquiCentre for Growth and Learning, 168 Station Road, Grantville, on Saturday, April 6, from 9 a.m. to noon. All children ages 8 to 12 and their caregivers are invited to participate.

The course is designed to promote healthy choices, effective communication skills, problem-solving and volunteerism using equine-assisted (horse-assisted) learning. Children experience hands-on activities, while learning proper "horse handling." No horse experience is needed. Mini horses are provided by the Capital Area Therapeutic Riding Association (CATRA).

This program is offered free of charge, but donations toward CATRA's equine therapy program are accepted. To register, readers may visit http://www.catra.net/miniature-horse-challenge/. Additional HighHOPES dates in 2019 can be found by visiting http://www.catra.net and clicking on Calendar.
