After a break for some years, the West York Area School District will bring back the homecoming bonfire. The tradition will be rekindled the night of the annual homecoming parade on Thursday, Oct. 3. The parade will kick off at West York High School, 1800 Bannister St., York, at 6 p.m. in the band parking lot on North Diamond Street and end in the middle school front parking lot (facing Bannister Street).
The community is encouraged to come and meet the homecoming court members, cheer on all sports teams, and help prepare the Bulldogs for the homecoming game on Friday, Oct. 4. The bonfire will begin at 7 p.m. in the duck pond area between the high school and middle school. Additionally, food trucks will be on hand, and other food items from various school clubs will be available for purchase.
