Classical Conversations of Elizabethtown is currently accepting applications for the 2021-22 school year. Classical Conversations is a worldwide classical, Christian homeschool organization that seeks to equip parents and students to use the classical tools of learning to hone students' academic skills of recitation, logical thinking and persuasive rhetoric.
The Foundations program, for students ages 4 to 12, focuses on the basics of history, science, English grammar, geography, Latin and math. Students also engage in weekly science projects, art or music and oral presentations.
In the future, the Elizabethtown campus plans to host Challenge programs for junior and senior high-age students. These programs aim to help students develop the character traits of leadership, discipline, decision-making, freedom, ownership and understanding of choices and consequences, along with the skills of argumentation and persuasion.
The Elizabethtown Classical Conversations community meets on Tuesdays during the academic year at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 398 N. Locust St., Elizabethtown. Interested families can visit http://www.classicalconversations.com for more information or contact Elizabethtown director Jana MacKay at CCEtown@gmail.com.
