Hospice & Community Care and the Pathways Center for Grief & Loss will offer several programs in March, April, and May. Programs are free and open to the public, and registration is required, unless noted otherwise. Due to the pandemic, all support groups will be held via Zoom. Adult drop-in group meetings include a presentation and an informal time to talk with others. Coping with the Loss of a Parent or Sibling will be offered on Tuesdays, April 6 and May 4, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Coping with the Loss of a Spouse or Companion will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on the first Wednesday and second Tuesday of the month and from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on the third and fourth Tuesdays.
GRASP (Grief Recovery After a Substance Passing) will be offered from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays, April 13 and May 11. This group is for individuals who have had a loved one die as a result of substance abuse or addiction. Preregistration is required for new attendees. Growing Through Grief, a 6-week series, will be held on Wednesdays, April 21 to May 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. This series is for people age 18 or older who are grieving a death that occurred at least nine months ago. Space is limited. Interested individuals will first meet with a bereavement counselor to determine if the group will meet their needs.
Remembering Our Mothers will be held on Saturday, May 8, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. This free annual Mother's Day commemorative event provides women whose mothers have died the opportunity to remember, honor, and celebrate their mothers' lives. Participants will hear virtually from Debbie Miley, Hospice & Community Care chaplain and ordained pastor in the United Church of Christ, who will present "Still My Mother." There will be opportunities for discussion with other participants. Space is limited. Readers must call the Pathways Center for Grief & Loss by Friday, April 30, to speak with a bereavement counselor who will provide the login information.
