HUMC Sets Service, Seminar

Hempfield United Methodist Church (HUMC), 3050 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, will host two upcoming events.

A healing service will take place in the sanctuary on Sunday, March 13, at 5 p.m. The service will address five pillars of healing: emotional, spiritual, physical, mental, and social. It will be led by pastor John Longmire and the Rev. Brenda Coffin. The service will be accompanied by prayer, as well as contemporary worship music selections led by HUMC director of worship Brian Mueller.

Understanding Dementia and Learning How to Become Dementia Friendly will be offered on Thursday, March 31, at 7 p.m. in the church's Spirit Cafe. Steve Klotz, coordinator of Dementia Friendly Lancaster, will present the community awareness seminar. Topics to be discussed are Dementia: What Is It Now? and What Will Happen? and How to Make the Most of the Journey.

The seminar is open to the public. There is no cost to attend, but registration is required at https://hempfieldumc.org/dementia by Monday, March 28.
