The Hempfield Youth Association (HYA) has announced that it will conduct basketball operations for two age levels. Online registration will open soon at http://www.playhya.com.
Travel teams will be available for boys in fifth and sixth grades. Games will take place against various other school district teams throughout Lancaster County. Participants should have prior experience in a formal basketball program. Advanced knowledge of the game and physical stamina will be required, as the program is rigorous.
A 4U intramural league will be available for children in third and fourth grades. Games will take place on a full-regulation court with 10-foot baskets in a formal setting. Children should have prior experience, preferably in a formal basketball program, and should have knowledge of the game, as well as physical strength and stamina.
Inexperienced players or beginners are encouraged to seek opportunities at the Hempfield recCenter or the YMCA to gain experience.
