IU13 Honors STEM Champions

Lancaster-Lebanon IU13 held the annual IU13 STEM Awards Banquet on June 1. This year the ceremony was a virtual event.

Through the support of the Steinman Foundation, STEM Champions were honored for their excellence in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education in Lancaster and Lebanon counties. Amy Carter was named Elementary STEM Teacher of the Year. Carter teaches at Doe Run Elementary School in Manheim Central School District. Joseph Steinmacher received the Secondary STEM Teacher of the Year award. He teaches at Garden Spot High School in Eastern Lancaster County School District. The STEM School of the Year was the Palmyra Area School District Elementary Division.

The ceremony also featured a video message from 2020 Miss America Camille Schrier, who had presented a science experiment during the 2020 Miss America talent competition.
