The group Swing Street Jazz Quartet will perform at St. Edward's Episcopal Church, 2453 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, on Sunday, Jan. 26, at 3 p.m. The event is free, though an offering will be received. Light refreshments will be served.
Swing Street will present renditions of mainstream jazz standards and jazz adaptations of popular tunes. Group members are Chuck Oettel on guitar, Pete Bainbridge on bass, Mike Truitt on piano, and Olivia Daugherty on vocals. The band's members are known for their expertise and performances in the jazz music genre. The musicians, who enjoy jazz and big band/swing music, perform at The Log Cabin in Leola, The Belvedere Inn in Lancaster, The White Swan in Lititz and other area venues.
The program is the first concert in the Rev. Canon Stephen C. Casey Cultural Event Series at St. Edward's for 2020. Future concerts will include Valleyphonics on Sunday, April 26, at 3 p.m. On Saturday, June 20, at 7 p.m., Servant Stage will perform a Broadway-style revue, and in December, Fire in the Glen will present a Celtic Christmas program.
