The York Jewish Community Center (York JCC) is expanding its programs and services through the acquisition of Jewish Family Services of York (JFS). As of May 28, JFS is now operating as the Family Services department of the York JCC.
Since 1988, JFS has provided services to York County residents in need. In recent years, those efforts have focused primarily on assisting older adults and their families in improving their quality of life through community resources, groceries and safety-net services, transportation, and social engagement opportunities.
As part of the JCC mission to build a community of well-being, and consistent with Jewish values of chesed - loving kindness - and tzedakah - social justice/giving - this newly created Family Services department will provide additional opportunities for York JCC to care for those in need.
