Children residing in Hempfield School District who will be 5 years old prior to Sept. 1 are eligible to begin kindergarten in the fall. The online kindergarten registration process will start on Monday, Jan. 24, and close on Tuesday, Feb. 22.
Parents must take three steps to register their children. First, they should visit http://www.hempfieldsd.org/kindergarten to create an account and complete the online enrollment. Second, they must call Student Services at 717-459-9009 to schedule a time to bring their child's birth certificate and immunization records, along with proof of residency and the parent's photo ID, to the Registration Office. Third, parents should attend Kindergarten Orientation Night at the school building where their child will be enrolled. During orientation, parents and guardians will learn more about the educational program and sign up for kindergarten screenings that provide the school with information about health and personal strengths.
