Alliance Church, 425 Cloverleaf Road, Elizabethtown, invites the community to its Fly a Kite Fun Day on Saturday, April 6, starting at 10:30 a.m. At 11 a.m. there will be an Easter egg hunt for children in preschool to fourth grade.
Attendees may bring a kite or build one at the church's kite workshop, where dowel rods and plastic trash bags will be provided. Awards will be given for the kite that is in the air the longest and the kite that flies the highest, with a minimum height of more than 10 feet.
There will be a bounce house, and lunch will be available for purchase. The Northwest Regional Police Department has been invited.
There is no rain date, and attendees are asked to leave pets at home. Kite safety rules will be followed.
Donations accepted at the event will cover the cost of materials, benefit the upgrade of the church's preschool Sunday school rooms, and provide items for care packages for the troops.
