The Kiwanis Club of Middletown recently completed projects for Caitlin's Smiles and the Ronald McDonald House in Hershey.
The club compiled 370 CD wall hanging kits featuring used CDs and DVDs that the club began gathering in April. Helpers covered the CDs, placed them in CD envelopes and attached labels. Each kit also included instructions, various types of stickers, a piece of ribbon and a pack of crayons. Once completed, the kits were delivered to Caitlin's Smiles. The club also assembled and delivered 105 pencils with Halloween toppers to Caitlin's Smiles in September.
Additionally, members of the Kiwanis Club printed a stack of Smiles Cards and gave them to the Patch Works Day Care facility in Middletown, where 93 cards were colored by children who attend the day care. In exchange for the children's handiwork, the Kiwanis Club provided the day care with 60 children's books.
Club members gathered and dropped off 38 pounds of magazines for the Ronald McDonald House.
