Kreutz Creek Library Posts Calendar

Kreutz Creek Library, 66 Walnut Springs Road, York, will offer programs and services to the community. Many programs will be offered virtually. Registration is required. For details and registration, visit http://www.yorklibraries.org. The library will be closed to patrons on Wednesday, April 20, due to a special program.

Alexandra Villasante, award-winning author of "The Grief Keeper," will lead an interactive workshop for teens about her book, its themes, and her writing process. The Part of the Story workshop will be open to students in grades nine through 12 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 20. Students should check with their school regarding attendance since the program occurs during a school day. Registration is required at http://www.yorklibraries.org/part-of-the-story by Wednesday, April 6.

Three regular story time programs will be held for children and families: an outdoor story time, Tuesdays at 10 a.m. at Flinchbaugh's Orchard & Farm Market; Babies and Toddlers Story Time, Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. starting April 13 at the library; and Preschool Story Time, Fridays at 10:30 a.m. starting April 15 at the library.

Tween programs for will be offered on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. for children ages 9 to 12. The Danger Club will meet on April 12 for a new adventure with a mix of magic and mayhem. On April 26, the Library Squad will gather to plan programming for tweens.

The Friends of Kreutz Creek Library (KCL) Puzzle Swap will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Community Room on Saturday, April 9. Puzzles will be available to purchase for a nominal fee or visitors may swap one of theirs for one at the library.

Green Thumb Garden Talk will be offered on Thursday, April 14, from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. Melanie Markowski will present "Stop and Smell the Potpourri," a discussion on the history of potpourri and the how-tos of making blends at home. Reservations are not required.

The Friends of Kreutz Creek Library spring used book, jewelry, puzzle, and bake sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, April 22, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 23. The sale will be held in the Hellam Township Public Works building across from the library.

The Friends of Kreutz Creek Library Branch Support Group will gather at 5:30 p.m. on April 26 in the Community Room. Members will discuss ideas for fundraising and raising awareness about the library. New members are welcome.

The virtual Mystery at the Library event will begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27. The event will feature "In My Dreams I Hold a Knife" by Ashley Winstead, including a discussion with the author.
