Kreutz Creek Posts Events

Kreutz Creek Library, 66 Walnut Springs Road, York, will offer a variety of virtual programs to the community. Programs are free, but preregistration is required for most programs and to receive links to participate. For details and registration, readers may visit http://www.yorklibraries.org/events/2021-03.

Monday Evening Family Story Times will take place on Zoom on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. Miss Kelly from Guthrie Memorial Library will host.

Two children's story times will become available at 10 a.m. on Facebook. Digital Babies & Toddlers Story Time, designed for babies and children through age 3, will be offered on Tuesdays. Digital Preschool Story Times, open to children ages 3 to 5, will be held on Wednesdays. Readers may visit Facebook at KreutzCreekLibrary or YorkCountyLibraries to enjoy a new, recorded story time video.

A Sensory Story Time, open to children ages 2 to 5, will be offered on Zoom on Thursdays at 10 a.m. The program will feature interactive book-based experiences, music, playtime, and socialization for the whole family. This award-winning program is a partnership with Connections Early Intervention & Supports.

Tween Programs will be offered to youths ages 9 to 12 via Zoom on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. On March 9, the Danger Club will meet, followed by the Library Squad on March 23.

Murder at the Library, a virtual author event, will take place at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24. York County Libraries is participating with book distributor Baker and Taylor to give mystery-loving readers access to the Murder at the Library Virtual Book Club. Each month, Baker and Taylor selects a mystery book for library members to read and then features a live author event. The March selection will be "Black Widows" by Cate Quinn, and attendees may visit online with the author on March 24.

A One Book, One Community (OBOC) virtual book discussion will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, March 8. The OBOC 2021 regional book selection is "The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper" by Phaedra Patrick. In addition, Patrick will participate live from England in a virtual event from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 7. More details will follow.

Part of the Story (POTS), open to teens in ninth through 12 grades, will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 27. POTS is a book-based program that engages teens in discussing topics with real-life impact. Teens can then create a call to action for their community as a response to the themes addressed in the book. The 2021 book is "Dread Nation" by Justina Ireland.

Zoom Into History - Research Resources with York County History Center will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, March 22. Nicole Smith and Adam Bentz will present research resources available through the York County History Center website, including photographs, databases, and new research aids for History Center archives collections.

The library is open for lobby pickup. After placing a book on hold and selecting Kreutz Creek Library as the pickup location, library patrons will receive a confirmation when the book is ready for pickup at the library. All visitors must wear a mask when entering the library. Books will be available during library hours in the vestibule. Hours are Mondays and Fridays from 10 a.m. 2 p.m. and Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2 to 6 p.m.
