Lampeter-Strasburg (L-S) High School recognized four students for their achievements during April.
Pioneer Superlatives were senior Douglas Schneider and freshman Sidney Brinkman.
Douglas is the son of Douglas and Kimberly Schneider of Lancaster. He was a member of the High School Heroes program, the honor roll, and the varsity baseball team. Douglas has assisted at the L-S baseball camp and enjoys hunting, fishing, and sports. He will attend Penn State University and plans to pursue a career as a high school teacher.
Sidney, the daughter of Todd and Denise Brinkman of Willow Street, works on the yearbook, tutors peers in biology, and is a member of the distinguished honor roll. She was a fifth- and eighth-grade Burrowes Scholar, winning for English Language Arts in eighth grade. Sidney swims for the Marauder Swim Club and the L-S Otters summer team. She plans to pursue a career as a history or a Spanish teacher.
Students of the Month were junior Elena Elia and sophomore Conner Nolt.
Elena, the daughter of James Elia of Willow Street and Timothea Jarell of Lancaster, is active in the orchestra program and WLSH and was the designer of the AP Psych class T-shirts. Elena received a silver medal and an honorable mention for jewelry in the 2019 Lancaster County Young Artists Awards. Elena plans to study early childhood education and to work as an elementary school teacher or preschool teacher.
Conner is the son of Joshua and Ruby Nolt of Lancaster. He is a member of the Pioneer Interact Club, the Ski and Snowboard Club, the honor roll, and the lacrosse, football, and basketball teams. Conner is involved with youth group at LBIC and has been a part of mission trips to Guatemala and Buffalo, N.Y. Conner plans to pursue a career in business or sports medicine.
