Lacto-Fermentation Class Planned

Horn Farm Center for Agricultural Education, 4945 Horn Road, York, will host an Introduction to Lacto-Fermentation class on Saturday, April 27, from 12:30 to 3 p.m.

Lacto-fermentation is the ancient art of preserving vegetables using salt, which gives the vegetables an umami flavor. The interactive workshop is geared for people new to fermentation. It will begin with the sampling of recent fermentations made by the facilitators and a discussion of the health benefits of lacto-fermented foods.
