Robert F. Lambert, president of York County Libraries, has been elected to serve on the Capital BlueCross board of directors. Capital BlueCross is an independent, community-focused health plan, and its board consists of individuals who represent a tradition of integrity, philanthropy and service to the community.
Lambert joins the board with more than 25 years of experience building and driving revenue-generating operations for York County Libraries. He is also founder of Sir Newton Traders, an education company that provides proprietary software and market analysis to its members.
Lambert currently serves as an appointee to the Governor's Advisory Council for Library Development, the York Traditions Bank board of directors, York Academy Regional Charter School board of trustees, and the York Symphony Orchestra board of directors. Most recently, York College of Pennsylvania (YCP) recognized Lambert as a recipient of the Spartans of the Year Award and the Alumni Board of Directors Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award.
Lambert's academic credentials include a Master of Public Administration from Pennsylvania State University, a Master of Science in library and information service from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Bachelor of Arts in speech communications from YCP. In addition, he graduated from Stanford University's Executive Education Program in social innovation and entrepreneurship.
