The City of Lancaster has launched a newly redesigned website, http://www.cityoflancasterpa.com, making it easier for Lancaster residents, business owners, and stakeholders to access services, find information, and engage with local government.
The new website is search centric, with a search engine that examines the main website as well as the eCodes360 platform. The eCodes360 platform houses the city code as well as city council and other board, commission, and authority meeting agendas and minutes.
Other new and updated features include Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Hindi, Nepali, and Somali translations via GTranslate; an "In the Spotlight" section on the homepage where residents can quickly find out if street cleaning and trash collection are on schedule, if city offices are open, and where there is road work; a Popular Services section on the homepage, which connects users to frequently accessed information; a calendar that lists city council, board, commission, and authority meetings, as well as other city government events; and a frequently asked questions feature, where users can find answers via keyword search or filter by department, service, or subject matter.
Enhancements were also made to allow for better navigation via mobile devices. Half of website users access the site from mobile phones or tablets.
