Lancaster Heart Walk Posted

The American Heart Association invites the community to participate in the Lancaster Heart Walk on Saturday, Sept. 25. Participants and teams will gather at the Barnstormers' stadium, 650 N. Prince St., Lancaster, to celebrate heart and stroke survivors, raise funds and encourage physical activity. Festivities will begin at 9 a.m., and walkers may step off at 10 or 11 a.m. Walkers will follow a 1-mile or 3-mile walking route through Lancaster. Participants can also choose to create a path of their own. From neighborhood sidewalks to tucked-away trails, any route can be used.

To register, visit http://www.heart.org/lancasterwalk. From there, participants can stay up to date by downloading the Heart Walk mobile app and encourage friends and family to join in via email or on social media. Those walking on a path of their own can follow the festivities through the hashtag #LancasterHeartWalk.

The funds raised from the Lancaster Heart Walk will go toward research, advocacy, CPR training and promoting better health in support of the association's 2024 Health Equity Impact Goal to reduce barriers to health care access and quality. Visit http://www.heart.org to learn more.

The Lancaster Heart Walk is sponsored by Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health with additional support from UPMC, WellSpan Health, Fulton Bank, PSECU, Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster, Penn State Health and Woodstream Corporation.
