Land Management Webinar Planned

Feb 10, 2022 - 7:00 pm

The Manada Conservancy in Hummelstown will present "Volunteers in Land Management - Lessons Learned and Reasons Why" on Thursday, Feb. 10. The free webinar will begin at 7 p.m.

In the webinar, Keith Williams of Lancaster Conservancy will discuss the Volunteer Land Steward program that he directs, including lessons learned and a few invasive plant management methods that have worked well with volunteers. He will also share examples of why this work is so critically important.

Land protection is essential for biodiversity conservation, water quality protection, and climate resilience. Most land trusts operate on a shoestring budget with few staff members, and volunteers fill the gap by performing land protection and stewardship services.
