A Wildlife-Safe Spotted Lanternfly Trap Event will take place on Sunday, Sept. 13, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Columbia Crossing, 41 Walnut St., Columbia.
The Lancaster County Conservation District and Raven Ridge Wildlife Center will provide information on lanternfly mitigation efforts and how to set lanternfly traps without hurting local wildlife. Sticky tape can be harmful to birds, so Raven Ridge will demonstrate how to safely prepare an animal that is stuck on the tape for the rehabilitation center. The Conservation District will provide free lanternfly traps and show how to properly set them.
Participants will be required to wear masks. For more information, readers may visit http://www.susquehannaheritage.org/events/ and select the Wildlife-Safe Spotted Lanternfly Trap Event.
