LCAA Offers Heartful Art

With a touch of spring and a nod to Valentine's Day, the Lancaster County Art Association (LCAA) is opening its garden show exhibit with a theme of "Hearts and Flowers." Visitors to the LCAA's Kauffman Gallery, located at 149 Precision Ave., Strasburg, will be surrounded by artwork featuring flowers, hearts, and garden-inspired images created by member artists. In addition, work by David Gibson will be featured in the LCAA's Steinmetz Gallery.

Just in time for last-minute Valentine's Day shopping, the gallery will feature a preview event on Friday, Feb. 14, from 2 to 4 p.m. One-of-a-kind handpainted ceramic boxes signed by the artists will be available for purchase. Gift certificates will also be available. Additionally, visitors will get an early look at the garden art show.

The opening reception for both shows will be held on Sunday, Feb. 16, from 1 to 4 p.m. The exhibits will be displayed through Monday, March 2. The gallery is open on Thursdays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m.

The LCAA welcomes new members who have an interest in exhibiting artwork or promoting the arts. Classes are available throughout the year to both members and nonmembers. Art camps for children are offered during the summer months.
