LCBC Sets Motorsports Show

LCBC Church will host its 22nd annual Motorsports Show at its Manheim location, 2392 Mount Joy Road, Manheim, on Saturday, June 11, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will feature doughnuts, coffee, candy and ice cream, and prize giveaways, and there will be more than 1,000 antique vehicles, classic cars, muscle cars, tuners, street rods, motorcycles, and scale-model cars.

This year's show will celebrate Mighty MOPAR Muscle, with a designated parking area featuring a variety of the high-performance cars produced by the Chrysler Corporation, including many rare examples.

Additionally, a variety of speakers will present in the West Wing auditorium from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Visitors may learn about land speed racing at Utah's Bonneville Salt Flats, as shared by drivers and owners who built their unique machines and set records of up to 317 mph. Visitors may see the Iron Dinosaur and the Team 608 Lakester up close and attend a presentation by land speed racers Don Gilmore and Bob Dauernheim. In addition, Bill Sangrey, curator of the "Yeah, It's Got a Hemi" exhibit at the AACA Museum in Hershey, will discuss the origins and development of the Hemi engine.

The event will feature local food vendors, including Hess's Barbecue Catering, which will accept cash only; Bricker's Famous French Fries; and the LCBC Cafe Connections. Kreider Farms will provide drinks. Free face painting and inflatables, as well as a racing track for radio-controlled vehicles, will be available for children.

The event is open to people of all ages and to all vehicle types and is free for both show entrants and guests. To register a car to be a part of the show, visit http://www.LCBCchurch.com/Motorsports.
