LCCTC FFA Fun Fair Set

May 17, 2019 - 10:00 am

The Lancaster County Career and Technology Center (LCCTC) FFA Chapter members will host the seventh annual LCCTC FFA Fun Fair on Friday, May 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Willow Street Campus of the LCCTC, 1730 Hans Herr Drive, Willow Street. The event will be held rain or shine.

The Fun Fair is open to the public, and there will be something for everyone. The petting zoo is free and will have a variety of farm animals, which may include calves, sheep, alpacas, rabbits, and others.

Other activities will be available for a small fee, such as a dime pitch; face painting; an opportunity to sit in a big rig truck; pony rides, weather permitting; and other games. The culinary class will have food and beverages available for purchase, and Farm Show milkshakes will be for sale as well. Vendors will also have stands at the event. Vendors with an informative stand or small business stand are welcome to participate. Items such as themed baskets, gift certificates, and other items will be available via giveaway drawings.

Additionally, a giveaway drawing for a chance to win a 2019 Kubota SideKick RTV-XG850 or a cash prize will be available in conjunction with the Pennsylvania FFA Foundation. Tickets may be purchased at the LCCTC FFA Fun Fair or at http://www.paffa.org/foundation. Those who purchase tickets online are asked to select Lancaster County CTC FFA to give the chapter credit for the sale, as the chapter will receive a monetary donation per ticket sold. The winner will be notified on Thursday, July 18, at the Pennsylvania FFA Foundation Golf Tournament; the winner does not need to be present.

All LCCTC FFA members are in the animal production science and technology class. The students have been taking leadership roles in planning the activities and organizing the event. The LCCTC FFA Fun Fair was created by charter-year members to raise awareness of FFA and their class. Proceeds will benefit LCCTC student organizations.

The FFA members are also running a blanket drive in support of Blankets4Zane to collect new store-bought or newly handmade blankets to benefit children in hospitals. Readers may visit http://blankets4zane.org/ for more information.
