The Lancaster County Career & Technology Foundation (LCCTF) recently announced this year's scholarship and Workforce Grant recipients. The winning Lancaster County Career & Technology Center (LCCTC) students were selected due to their dedication to their studies, development of skills, and completion of their coursework. This year, across all LCCTC campuses, the LCCTF awarded $24,000 in scholarships and $11,500 in workforce grants.
The LCCTF awards scholarships for LCCTC high school students who plan to pursue postsecondary education. Scholarship dollars provide for tuition, books, or supplies and equipment needed for postsecondary or continuing education.
Scholarship award recipients include Sujata Biswa, Penn Manor School District (SD), general scholarship; Nayelis Colon, Conestoga Valley SD, Lancaster County Code Association; Trevor Frey, Manheim Central SD, Susquehanna Litho Club Scholarship; Carter Gordon, Penn Manor SD, Baking and Pastry Arts Scholarship; Avery Goshert, Warwick SD, Culinary Arts; Fiona Connolly, Solanco SD, Public Safety Scholarship; Destiny Rudolph, Penn Manor SD, general scholarship; Diana Redcay, Garden Spot SD, Healthcare Scholarship; Jenna Baney, Hempfield SD, general scholarship; Aubrey Haldeman, Cocalico SD, Ashland Foundation Scholarship; and Elayna Lira, Donegal SD, LCCTC Healthcare Scholarship.
LCCTF Workforce Grants are designed with the workforce-bound student in mind by helping high school and adult LCCTC students who are entering the workforce. The grants assist recipients in obtaining the tools, equipment, uniforms, or other items needed for employment. This year's Workforce Grant recipients include Materials Handling & Logistics students Jordan Howard - Hempfield SD, Lysander Lauer - Penn Manor SD, and Kyle Snyder - Cocalico SD; Electrical Construction Technology students Kerr McCray - Cocalico SD, Marshall Messner - Ephrata SD, Sebastian Padilla - SD of Lancaster, Yoisel Roque Calzada - Manheim Township SD, and Dakoda Thomas - Manheim Central SD; Protective Services student Sean Moran - Garden Spot SD; Welding students Colton Sanchez-Segura - Warwick SD, Eddy Martinez - Penn Manor SD, Thomas Woody - Solanco SD, Chase Shifflet - Manheim Central SD, and Kenton Wenger - Warwick SD; and Diesel Equipment Technology students Erik Alexander Severein - Conestoga Valley SD and Brady Weaver - Warwick SD. Additional Workforce Grant recipients include Valeria Granada Villaraga - Dental Hygiene, Melvin Sanchez - Automotive Technology, Leyla Islamova - Dental Hygiene, Maya Rankin - Veterinary Technology, Olivia Ebersole - Veterinary Technology, Heather Hartranft - Dental Hygiene, and Justine Maust - Dental Assistant.
