Ludwigs Corner Fire Company (LCFC) will present a Beef and Beer fundraiser on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. in LCFC's Griffith Hall, 1325 Pottstown Pike (Route 100), Glenmoore. The event, open to those age 21 and over, will include food, beverages, music and an opportunity to win prizes.
Ticket holders will be able to enjoy food prepared by Montesano Bros. of Chester Springs. The all-you-can-eat menu, which will be served buffet-style, will include roast beef sandwiches, ziti, salad, beverages and desserts. Snacks will also be available throughout the evening.
Those who attend the event will also have an opportunity to win gift baskets through a random drawing. Among the prize items will be a Nintendo Switch and a Kate Spade handbag. "We will have an individual box in front of each item, and people can purchase tickets to win," explained Margie Mattes, one of the event organizers.
Names will be drawn during the evening. Winners do not need to be present.
Following dinner, attendees will be invited to dance. A disc jockey will provide the music.
Organizers noted that it has been several years since the fundraiser was held. "Last time we had over 200 (people) attend the event, and the hall holds 300. Obviously, our goal is to fill up (the hall)," said Mattes.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the fire company's effort to purchase portable rescue tools like the Jaws of Life.
"These are tools that help cut people out of cars if they are trapped," explained Ross Trego, LCFC assistant fire chief, noting that the equipment costs approximately $30,000. "(The new tools) are battery powered, so they are lighter and more accessible. The (current) system runs off hydraulic fluid, so we have to drag the hoses all around."

Tickets purchased in advance will be discounted. Tickets will also be sold at the door.
