Leadership Program Concludes

Thirty-seven people representing a variety of businesses and nonprofit organizations throughout York County completed Leadership York's Leadership Training Program (LTP) this year. A graduation ceremony took place on May 22 at the York Jewish Community Center.

LTP is a nine-month, experiential course that educates participants about York County history and community issues, systems, and services. LTP participants may enhance their knowledge of the community and strengthen their leadership skills. For employers, LTP offers an opportunity to reward and invest in employees, may improve retention as employees increase their connection and commitment to the community, and provides access to additional opportunities for partnerships and new business relationships.

As a component of their participation in the program, members of the Class of 2019 completed seven distinct service projects for area nonprofit organizations. LTP service projects are an opportunity to develop skills in researching community needs, identifying partners for collaboration to maximize impact and efficiency, and bringing together the resources necessary to address a need or problem.

This year's projects included Margaret E. Moul Home's "Crafting a Dream" trip, SPCA of York County's Spring Cleaning Indoor/Outdoor event, the York County Food Bank "Ham It Up!" Easter food drive, 18 South Ministries' "Bright Lights, Bright Future: A Red Carpet Affair" event, Family First Health's diaper drive, the Servants Inc. "Home Helps" paint drive, and DreamWrights' "Dreamin' of a Party."
