The Department of Humanities at the Penn State College of Medicine will present a Humanities Grand Rounds, History of Medicine lecture by Theresa Brown, titled "My Superpower Is Being a Nurse: Nurses' Heroism in Times of Crisis." The virtual lecture will be hosted on Zoom from noon to 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 13.
Brown will speak about how nurses have stepped up in times of crisis. Participants will learn about some nurses in history, including Florence Nightingale, poet Walt Whitman, and abolitionist and freed slave Harriet Tubman.
