Library Offers Online Programs

The Eastern Lancaster County (ELANCO) Library, 11 Chestnut Drive, New Holland, has reopened to the public. Its new business hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Saturdays and from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The library is closed on Fridays and Sundays. Face masks that cover the mouth and nose are required for entry; the library offers no-contact, self-pickup service as an alternative.

There is currently no seating for quiet study, research, reading, or meetings. To make an appointment, readers may call the library at 717-354-0525 or use the event calendar at http://www.elancolibrary.org.

The library is unable to accept any movie or book donations at this time.

All library events and activities are offered virtually and may be found on the event calendar at the aforementioned website. Community members may also follow the library on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter.

All electronic resources, including the e-book and e-audiobook collections, are available at https://lancasterlibraries.overdrive.com/ and http://online.lancasterlibraries.org/.

Recurring programs include Classics with Carla at noon on Mondays and Wednesdays through Sept. 14 on YouTube; Toddler Thursdays on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. through Sept. 24 for people of all ages on Facebook Live; STEM on the GO! on Mondays through Sept. 28 on a first-come, first-served basis for students in kindergarten and up; Animal Crossing with Ms. Carla on Mondays through Sept. 28 for people age 10 and up on Facebook Live; Preschool Storytime for 3- to 6-year-olds on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. on Facebook Live; and Zoom Zumba on Tuesdays through Sept. 29 at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Zoom. Participants may register on the aforementioned website or email hsmith@elancolibrary.org to receive the Zoom meeting ID and password.

Family Trivia for people of all ages will take place on Thursday, Sept. 10, at 6:30 p.m. The event will feature different categories such as "1990s Movies," "Which Meme is It?" and more on Facebook Live.

The adult Readers' Roundtable Book Discussion will meet on Monday, Sept. 14, at 6:30 p.m. on Zoom. The group will discuss "The Good Neighbor: The Life and Work of Fred Rogers" by Maxwell King. The Zoom meeting ID and password will be sent to everyone who registers with a valid email address.
