Library Plans Art Exhibit

Jun 09, 2019 -

Mason-Dixon Public Library, 250 Bailey Drive, Stewartstown, will open its second art exhibit of the 2019 season with a reception on Sunday, June 9, from 2 to 4 p.m. The exhibit will remain on display through Friday, Aug. 2.

This exhibit will feature the work of local artist Linda Nace. She is a lifelong York County resident who was born in York, graduated from Dover Area High School and currently lives in New Freedom. She has three adult children and one granddaughter.

Nace has always had a passion for art but could not devote the necessary time and energy to it until after her children were grown and she retired. For the past 10 years she has been under the tutelage of Michele Trout, a professional artist working in Shrewsbury. Trout has provided encouragement and constructive criticism to help Nace improve her art and discover her potential as an artist. Nace has created several pieces in watercolor, but her favorite medium is acrylics. She prefers a realistic style and leans more toward nature rather than structures in her work.

The reception is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. For more information about this event and other library events, readers may visit http://www.yorklibraries.org/mason-dixon or call the library at 717-993-2404.
