The Eastern Lancaster County (ELANCO) Library, 11 Chestnut Drive, New Holland, will offer a variety of programs and activities to the community. Library hours are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

A Trashcan Basketball Tournament for students in sixth through 12th grades will take place on Monday, April 1, at 6:30 p.m.
A Readers' Roundtable Book Discussion for adults will be held on April 1 at 6:30 p.m. in the downstairs board room. Attendees will discuss "Empire of the Summer Moon" by S.C. Gwynne.
Several story time programs will be offered. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Friday Frolic for Toddlers will be offered on Fridays at 10:30 a.m. and is open to walking toddlers ages 1 to 3. It will be followed by Stay and Play at 11 a.m. Preschool Story Time will take place on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. for children ages 3 to 5.
Teen Tuesdays will run from 3 to 5 p.m. for students in grades seven through 12.
Yoga at the Library for people age 16 and up will take place on Tuesday, April 2, at 7 p.m. The class will be taught by a certified instructor. This program will occur when the library is closed, so advance registration is required. All skill levels are welcome. Participants should bring a yoga mat, a yoga strap (or a belt, tie or scarf) and either a folded blanket or a small, firm pillow. Free child care will be available.
Parachute Play will be held on Wednesday, April 3, at 10:30 a.m. and is open to walking toddlers ages 1 to 3.
1, 2, 3 Play With Me will be offered on April 3 at 6:30 p.m. and Thursday, April 4, at 10:30 a.m. The program will offer opportunities for children to play with developmentally appropriate toys in a play group atmosphere. Parents will have the chance to talk with community experts in the areas of child development and nutrition.
One-on-One Tech Help will be available on April 4 at 1 p.m. and on Saturdays, April 6 and 20, from 2 to 4 p.m. The program offers free help with any device, tablet, or computer. Walk-ins are welcome, but are not guaranteed an appointment.
Lancaster County Solid Waste Management Authority will present Recycling Made Easy for people age 16 and up on April 4 at 6:30 p.m. The speaker will outline recycling guidelines. Attendees may bring items to find out if they are recyclable.
Mandala Painting will be held on Saturday, April 6, from noon to 2 p.m. for people age 16 and up. Class size is limited. The fee is payable at the door and includes all materials.
KPETS therapy dogs will visit the library at 10:30 a.m. on April 6 to offer children an opportunity to improve their reading skills by reading aloud to a therapy dog. The program is open to children of all ages.
To kick off National Library Week, the library will hold a bookmark contest. Participants of all ages may create a bookmark and drop it off in the children's department anytime between Monday, April 8, at 10 a.m. and Friday, April 12, at 5 p.m. The bookmark must have a book or library theme. Staff members will select and vote on two bookmarks during the week of Monday, April 15. The winning bookmark will be printed and made available to the public from Monday, April 22, to Friday, May 31.
The Lego Creation Club and the Hooks and Needles Yarn Crafting Club will both meet on April 8 at 6:30 p.m. The Lego Creation Club is a family activity for those age 3 and up. Hooks and Needles is open to knitters and crocheters of all skill levels, including beginners.
Yoga Story Time will be held on Wednesday, April 10, at 10:30 a.m. for children ages 2 to 6 with an adult. Siblings are welcome to participate. Participants will journey through a story featuring yoga poses, songs, and imagination.
The Friends of the Library will host their spring book sale on Thursday, April 11, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; on Friday, April 12, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday, April 13, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the activity room on the second floor of the library. The book sale will feature paperback and hardcover books, including some hard-to-find titles.
A Drop-in Craft will be offered on April 11 from 1 to 7 p.m. Individuals age 16 and up are invited to stop by the library to make personalized tealight holders.
A Unicorn Party for all ages will be take place on April 11 at 6:30 p.m. It will feature a story time, crafts, activities, and food.
Nintendudes for students in seventh through 12th grades will be offered on Monday, April 15, from 3 to 5 p.m. Ms. Carla will bring out the gaming console and snacks. Attendees may bring their Joy-Con controllers to create bigger teams.
Explore to Learn - Gravity for students in kindergarten through sixth grade will take place on April 15 at 6:30 p.m. Explore to Learn is a series of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) programs.
Get Ready for Summer With Essential Oils will be held on April 15 at 6:30 p.m. and is open to people age 16 and older. Attendees will learn how to prepare their feet for summer sandals. Registration is required for this event, and there is a materials fee, payable at the door.
Duplo Free Play for children ages 1 to 5 will occur on Wednesday, April 17 at 10:30 a.m.
Preschool Lab: A STEM Story Time will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 18, and is open to children ages 3 to 6. The program will start with a few books and end with an activity, such as a game, craft, or toy.
Plant a Seed for people age 3 and up will be offered on April 18 from noon to 4 p.m. At the drop-in event, participants will plant a seed to take home. All materials, including seeds and dirt, will be provided.
Love Your Library for people age 16 and up will be offered on April 18 from 1 to 7 p.m. Attendees will make a National Library Week button and talk to their local librarian.
Dungeons and Dragons Club, open to individuals age 10 and up, will meet on April 18 at 6:30 p.m. Block Party, a preschool STEM event, will begin at 6:30 p.m. on April 18 and is open to children ages 3 to 6.
A Puppet Making Workshop for children age 5 and up will take place on Friday, April 19, from noon to 2 p.m. Ms. Carla will provide paper bags, clean socks, wooden spoons, and more for attendees to use in creating puppets. Children will use their puppets to perform a puppet show.
The New Holland Lions Club will host an egg hunt with the Easter Bunny for children age 11 and under on Saturday, April 20, at 10 a.m. at the New Holland Community Memorial Park. After the egg hunt, the Easter Bunny will visit the library at 10:30 a.m. for stories, activities and photos.
Teen Art Time for students in seventh through 12th grades will be offered on Monday, April 22, at 3 p.m. Participants will create black glue paintings, and they should wear old clothes.
Planet Earth - A STEM Event will take place on Earth Day, April 22, at 6:30 p.m. for students in kindergarten through sixth grades. Attendees will learn about the Earth as well as pollution and recycling.
A Drop-in Craft will be offered on Wednesday, April 24, from 5 to 7 p.m. Individuals of all ages are invited to stop by the library for the craft.
Microsoft Word 101 for people age 16 and up will be offered on Thursday, April 25, at 1 p.m. Registration is required. Attendees will learn the basics of the software and its uses, such as typing letters and creating resumes.
Movie Night will be held on April 25 at 5 p.m. Details about the 90-minute movie are available by contacting the library. A snack will be provided.
The Young Readers' Club will gather on April 25 at 6:30 p.m. Students in grades three to five will explore different books and themes. Children should choose a book from the Hardy Boys series.
Teen After-Hours: Fandom will take place on Friday, April 26, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Students in grades six through 12 will eat and socialize. The event will feature cosplay, snacks and games.
Chair Zumba at the Library will be held on Saturday, April 27 at 10 a.m. The class is free and designed for people age 16 and older.
An Acrylic Paint Class will be held on April 27 at 2 p.m. for people age 13 and over. A materials fee will be payable at the door. Class size is limited, and registration is required.
Teen Study Hall, for students in grades seven through 12, will be offered on Monday, April 29, from 3 to 5 p.m.
Guide to Retirement will take place on April 29 at 6 p.m. Attendees will learn about saving and investing and how these are related to retirement.
The Teen Advisory Group will hold a meeting on April 29 at 6:30 p.m. The group is open to students in grades six through 12 who want to help plan future teen events at the library. The Teen Book Club for teenagers in grades six through 12 will gather at 7 p.m. on April 29. Attendees should bring along a book they have read recently for discussion.
