Wee Readers will gather from 10:30 to 11 a.m. on Fridays, Nov. 1 and 15, and is open to young children and their caregivers.
The Anime Club will meet at 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 1. The club is open to teenagers age 13 and older, who will watch anime, enjoy snacks, and socialize. Content will be PG/PG13 or TV14.
Pre-K Meet-Up will be offered on Tuesdays from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the Early Literacy Lab. The program is designed for parents with preschool-age children.
On Wednesdays, Nov. 6 and 13, the library will offer 1,2,3 ... Play With Me! The parent/child workshop is designed for parents and children from birth to age 3. Topics and experts will vary. Older and younger siblings are welcome.
Back-to-School Skill Builders will be held from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Thursdays, Nov. 7 and 21. Local educator Kathie Rickart will offer a review of academic skills and enrichment, practice in comprehension strategies and thinking skills, and work on math facts mastery and reading fluency. Each session will have a variety of activities, so different needs and interests will be met. This program is best suited to children ages 8 to 10. Registration is requested so materials can be prepared. Space is limited. Walk-ins will be accepted, if space allows.
Family Movie Night will be held on Nov. 7 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The program is open to people of all ages and will include a free movie (rated G or PG) and free popcorn in a family-friendly atmosphere. Readers may call the library for the movie title.
Dungeons and Dragons Club for youths ages 12 to 19 will meet on Saturdays, Nov. 9 and 23. Youths will gather from 1 to 4:30 p.m. to participate in the Dungeons and Dragons role-playing game.
Parachute Games will be offered for children ages 3 to 6 with a caregiver from 10:30 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14. Participants will be able to enjoy songs, rhymes, and games while moving and having fun.
Lego and More Block Bonanza will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. on Nov. 14. The program is open to youths ages 2 to 16. Children under age 8 must be accompanied by a caregiver.
Two teen programs will be held on Saturday, Nov. 16. Open board game time will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Teen Leadership Group will meet from 2 to 3 p.m. to plan programming for teenagers in the library. The events are designed for youths ages 12 to 19.
The Young and Restless will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Nov. 20. The program is designed for children ages 18 month to 3 years with a caregiver. The program will build literacy skills while having fun with books, rhymes, felt boards, puppets, dancing, and crafts.
Baby's First Story Time will run from 1 to 2 p.m. on Nov. 20. The program is open to babies from birth to 17 months with a caregiver.
Circuits Beginner Electronics Programming will be offered from 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21. Participants will learn fundamental physical principles such as polarity, contact, current, and series vs. parallel and short-circuits, while snapping together experiments.
On Friday, Nov. 22, from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m., children from birth to age 6 and their caregivers will gather for Sing! Sign! Story Time! Other family members are welcome to attend. Stories and songs will be used to teach basic American Sign Language (ASL) baby signs to children and their caregivers.
