Pre-K Meet-Up will take place from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays, June 18 and 25. The casual gathering is open to children ages 3 to 5 and their caregivers. The program will meet in the Early Literacy Lab. Older and younger siblings are welcome.
Toddler Meet-Up will take place from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Wednesdays, June 19 and 26. The casual gathering is open to children ages 1 to 3 and their caregivers. The program will meet in the Early Literacy Lab. Older siblings are welcome.
On June 19 from 1 to 2 p.m., "That Fabulous Franklin" will be presented by Family Stages. Two actors will recreate important moments in Benjamin Franklin's story. The program is recommended for youths ages 4 to 14, with walk-ins welcome as room size allows on the day of program.
Hank's Sense-Sational Story Time will be offered to children age 7 and under on Thursday, June 20, from 10 to 11 a.m. Hank the Health Hero will help participants learn about their bodies. Walk-ins are welcome as group size allows.
Kids Parachute Challenge for ages 7 to 12 will be held on Fridays, June 21 and 28, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. It will feature popular parachute games and activities.
A teenager-led arts workshop for youths age 10 and up will take place from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Fridays from June 21 through Aug. 9 (except July 5). Children will learn techniques in working with clay and in acting and will have the opportunity to display their product and build confidence performing in front of others.
On Saturday, June 22, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., the STEM program for youths ages 10 to 18 will feature the STEM Mobile, presented by the Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania. They will present a program about 3-D design. Walk-ins will be accepted as room allows on the day of the program.
The Teen Dungeons and Dragons Club will meet on June 22 from 1 to 4:30 p.m. The club meets on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month.
Crafts in the Library will be held on June 25 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. No registration is required.
"There's No Place Like Space!" for children ages 3 to 6 will be presented by the Lancaster County Parks and Recreation Department on June 26 from 10 to 11 a.m. Preschoolers will listen to the story, learn a little about each planet in the solar system, and make their own planet. Walk-ins will be welcome on the day of the event if group size allows.
Wonderful World of Words for 9- to 11-year-olds will be offered on Thursday, June 27, from 10 a.m. to noon. Local educator Kathie Rickart will present books and activities for fun and for vocabulary enrichment. The program is limited to 10 children.
On June 27, Parachute Play will offer fun with a parachute plus silly songs and rhymes from 10 to 10:30 a.m. for children ages 1 to 3 and their caregivers. Parachute Games will be held from 10:45 to 11:15 a.m. and will provide songs, rhymes, and games for children ages 3 to 6 and their caregivers.
Wee Readers, a family story time, will include a mix of stories, crafts, songs, and activities. The program will be held at 10:30 a.m. on June 28. The program is open to young children and their caregivers.
A STEM program for children ages 8 to 12 will take place on Saturday, June 29, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The monthly series of STEM-based programs encourages children and families to learn about math and the sciences. These hands-on programs use kits provided by Agilent Technologies that attendees get to keep at the end. Space is limited to 18 participants. Registration is preferred, and walk-ins will be welcome as class size allows.
