The Lititz Public Library has announced a new StoryWalk featuring "The Mixed-Up Truck" by Stephen Savage. The walk begins at Kissel Hill Road and Sixth Street and moves along the sidewalk around the library property.
A StoryWalk combines two healthy activities, taking a walk and reading a book. It is a self-directed activity for people of all ages that encourages participants to read a children's picture book in stages while walking along a short path. Participants are encouraged to complete a simple activity at each page. StoryWalks promote literacy, physical activity, parental involvement, and ties to the community.
The Warwick Township Board of Supervisors approved and assisted in the installation of the permanent StoryWalk fixtures. The library hopes to celebrate the full installation in June following some construction along Sixth Street.
