The Friends of the New Cumberland Public Library will hold preowned book sales from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays, Aug. 3 and 17, in Foundation House, located across the shared parking lot. All proceeds will benefit the library.

Summer Story Time, for children ages 2 to 5, will be held on Monday, Aug. 5, at 10:30 a.m. Summer Book Babies Story Time will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 6, at 11:15 a.m. 123 Library will be held on Mondays, Aug. 5 to 19, at 6:30 p.m. for children ages 2 to 6.
Special events for young children will be offered. A Block Party will take place on Monday, Aug. 12, at 10:30 a.m., and children ages 2-and-a-half to 5 are invited to drop in. Baby Water Play will be held at 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13, outside the library on the lawn; the program is for babies and toddlers under age 2. PlayDoh Palooza will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 19, for children ages 2 to 6. Baby Open Play will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 20, at 11:15 a.m. in the Story Time Castle.
All-Day Lego Play will be available from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14. Children may drop in anytime during the day for open play with Legos in the castle.
Teen Gaming Hour will run from 3 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8. People ages 12 to 17 are invited to drop in for an hour of Wii gaming or board games in the Teen Area.
