The Chester County Library, 450 Exton Square Parkway, Exton, will host its third annual NerdCon on Friday and Saturday, May 3 and 4. The fun will begin on May 3 with a showing of the movie "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Activities on May 4 will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
On May 4, attendees are invited to visit the library dressed as one of their favorite characters and participate in a cosplay costume contest. Participants must follow the Chester County Library Behavior Policy for cosplaying. The policy prohibits masks, weapons, and costumes of a revealing nature.
At 10 a.m., a scavenger hunt will be available, along with craft stations for children and adults. During NerdCon, the library will show two Star Wars movies: "Solo: A Star Wars Story" from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" from 1:30 to 4 p.m. People with an interest in "Game of Thrones" are invited to share their theories and pose questions at the "For the Throne!" round-table discussion at 11 a.m. A Superhero Story Time, for children only, will begin at noon.
Attendees may test their knowledge during Nerd Jeopardy from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. and Random Fandom Trivia from 2:15 to 3 p.m. Diane Wu, a producer from "This American Life," will share information about podcasting from 1 to 2 p.m. Opportunities to play video games from the past will be available from 3:30 to 5 p.m. NerdCon will also include vendors.
In celebration of Free Comic Book Day, the library will hand out free comic books in the Teen Zone. The comic books will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
