The programs will include three story times: Toddler Story Time on Wednesdays from 10 to 10:30 a.m. on Zoom, for caregivers and their toddlers ages 19 to 35 months; Family Story Time on Tuesdays from 6 to 6:30 p.m. on Zoom, for families with children of all ages; and Preschool Story Time on Fridays from 10 to 10:30 a.m. on Zoom, for children ages 3 to 5 and their caregivers. Similarly, Born to Read will be offered on Mondays from 9:30 to 9:50 a.m. on Zoom for caregivers and their babies from birth to 18 months.
A variety of virtual events will be offered for children; tweens, those ages 10 to 12; and teens, those ages 13 to 18. These include YA Book Club on Wednesdays, Sept. 15 and 29, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. via Discord, for teens; Anime Club on Thursdays from 4 to 5 p.m. on Discord, for teens; Tween Jackbox Game Night on Thursday, Sept. 16, from 4 to 5 p.m. on Zoom and Jackbox, which will require a computer or mobile device with a microphone and optional camera; Tween Dungeons and Dragons on Fridays, Sept. 17 and 24, from 4 to 5 p.m.; and Teen Dungeons and Dragons on Sept. 17 and 24 from 4 to 6 p.m. and Saturdays, Sept. 18 and 25, from 3 to 5 p.m. on Discord.
Also, Marching Into Math on Mondays, Sept. 20 and 27, from 11 to 11:30 a.m. via Zoom for children ages 3 to 5; Writing Workshop on Mondays, Sept. 20 and 27, from 4 to 5 p.m. on Discord for teens; Discord Hangouts on Wednesday, Sept. 22, from 3 to 5 p.m. on Discord for teens; and Tween Book Club on Sept. 22 from 4 to 5 p.m. on Zoom.
Families with children of all ages are invited to attend a virtual Family Paint Party on Thursday, Sept. 23, from 6 to 6:45 p.m. via Zoom. A supply list for the project will be emailed.
The Spanish Language Conversation Group is open to youths age 15 and up and adults. It will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 29, from noon to 1 p.m. on Zoom. People with any level of fluency in Spanish are welcome.
Adults may also attend the Novel Thoughts Too! book club meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 21, from 1 to 2 p.m. on Zoom, with the Zoom link available by emailing darlenea@comcast.net.
Voracious Video Gamers! will be available for adults on Sept. 21 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Zoom, and participants must have a Nintendo Switch and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. A limited number of games are available for checkout from the library system.
Adults may attend Community Conversations on Diversity in Children's Literature: Representation on Tuesday, Sept. 28, from 7 to 8 p.m. on Zoom. Local leaders and experts will guide a moderated conversation between panelists, which will be followed by a question-and-answer session with attendees.
In-person programs this month will include Crazy for Coloring, for adults, on Sept. 27 from 5 to 7 p.m. at William H. & Marion C. Alexander Family Library, 200 W. Second St., Hummelstown. Coloring sheets and colored pencils will be provided, and attendees may bring their own coloring tools.
