Phoenixville Public Library, 183 Second Ave., will host a free presentation, "Mysteries of 'The Star-Spangled Banner' and the War of 1812," on Monday, Aug. 19, at 7 p.m. Historian and author Gene Pisasale will be the presenter.
Attendees will learn about the flag that flew over Fort McHenry during the war, which inspired Francis Scott Key to write a song that eventually became the United States' national anthem. Notable aspects of the war will also be discussed.
