The Eastern Lancaster County (ELANCO) Library, 11 Chestnut Drive, New Holland, will offer a variety of programs and activities to the community. Most events are free but require advance registration. Several story time programs will be offered; unless otherwise noted, the programs will begin at 10:30 a.m. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Preschool Story Time, designed for children ages 3 to 5, will be held on Tuesdays. Parachute Play, open to children ages 1 to 3, will be held on Wednesdays. Friday Frolic for Toddlers will be offered on Fridays for walking toddlers ages 1 to 3 and will be followed by Stay and Play Friday at 11 a.m.
The Readers' Roundtable will meet in the downstairs board room on Monday, April 6, at 6:30 p.m. The adult program will feature a discussion of "A Piece of the World" by Christina Baker Klinet.
Dungeons and Dragons Club will meet on Thursdays, April 2 and 16, at 6:30 p.m. Open to individuals age 10 and older, the club is designed for people who enjoy the tabletop role-playing game. New players are welcome to attend.
Therapy dogs will visit the library on Saturday, April 4, at 10:30 a.m. Children of all ages are invited to improve their reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to a therapy dog from KPETS.
Easter Bunny at the Park will be held on April 4 at 11 a.m. in the Hart Pavilion at the New Holland Community Memorial Park. The family event for people of all ages will feature a visit from the Easter Bunny, a story, and some crafts. The Easter Bunny will also be available for photos.
Llama Llama Visits the Library! will be held on Thursday, April 9, at 6:30 p.m. The family event for people of all ages will including taking pictures, games and activities, and crafts.
Story Time and Snack with YWCA will be held on Thursdays, April 9, April 23, and May 7, at 10:30 a.m. Staff from the YWCA will discuss topics such as feelings, boundaries, and safety through fun children's books, sing-alongs, and crafts. A snack will be provided. All topics and activities are family-friendly and are open to people of all ages. The program is a three-part series, so attending all three sessions is recommended.
All Things STEM will be offered on April 9 from noon to 3 p.m. A variety of STEM toys will be available for children to tinker with and explore.
Wee Build will be held on Saturday, April 11, at 10:30 a.m. for children from birth to age 6. The program will offer a hands-on playtime with developmentally appropriate toys.
Book Bingo for the entire family will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 13. The prizes will be books. Attendees are asked to bring along a gently used book to add to the prize pool.
A Spot of Science will be held from noon to 3 p.m. on April 13 for children age 3 and older. Stations will be set up in the children's area for attendees to explore.
The Lego Creation Club will meet on April 13 at 6:30 p.m. The family event is for individuals age 3 and older. Attendees will make creations using Lego bricks, and the creations will be displayed in the library.
Hooks & Needles: Yarn Crafting Club will gather on April 13 at 6:30 p.m. The program is open to people of all ages and skill levels. Knitters and crocheters will work on projects, offer tips, and share ideas. Beginners will be offered assistance to start their first project.
Programs for teenagers in grades six through 12 will be offered. Teen Tuesdays will take place on Tuesdays from 3 to 5 p.m. where teenagers can chill out, hang out, and geek out in the library. The Teen Art Club will gather at 6:30 p.m. on April 13, and attendees should bring their own sketchbook. Other supplies will be provided.
Art for Little Ones will be offered at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 16. The program is open to children age 18 months to 5 years, who will explore art in different ways.
Block Party, a preschool STEM event, will be held on April 16 at 6:30 p.m. for children ages 3 to 6. Participants will build with wooden blocks.
Zumba at the Library will be available at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 18. The event is open to individuals age 16 and older. Beginners are welcome.
Dr. Seuss Science will take place on Monday, April 20, at 6:30 p.m. for children in preschool through second grade. Children will celebrate Dr. Seuss with a wacky science extravaganza, including slime, volcanoes, and more.
Game On! will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 27. The program, for individuals age 10 and older, will explore a card or board game.
Science Exploration, designed for children ages 2 to 5, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 30. Different areas will provide children with opportunities to explore some basic STEM concepts.
The Cocoa Club will meet on April 30 at 6:30 p.m. People of all ages are invited to bring a mug, find a spot, and settle into a story for about 45 minutes.
