The Strasburg Lions Club will host the annual Strasburg Halloween Parade on Thursday, Oct. 24. The parade will step off promptly at 7 p.m. from the Jaycee Park, located at 218B Miller St., Strasburg.
Entrants may register at the park on Oct. 24 beginning at 5:30 p.m. Entries will be accepted for individuals, small groups, large groups and floats. Participants will join the Lampeter-Strasburg Middle School and High School marching bands on a nearly 1-mile march eastward on Route 741, culminating in a band concert at the intersection of Main and Decatur streets (the square).
Political representatives and active candidates are welcome to march with a vehicle or banners. Other political-oriented propaganda will be kept out of the parade. Participants are encouraged to bring small individually wrapped candies to share with observers.
Parking will be limited at Jaycee park. Nearby churches and the borough office will make their parking lots available for the night of the parade. Road closures around the parade route will begin at approximately 6:30 p.m.
This is a fair weather event only. If weather is questionable, a decision will be made by 5 p.m. the day of the parade. For more details, readers may contact Lion Keith Kauffman 717-371-2341.
