Lititz Public Library, 651 Kissel Hill Road, Lititz, will offer a variety of events to the community. Preregistration is not required for most programs. The Summer Reading Program, themed "Oceans of Possibilities," will run through Thursday, Sept. 1, for adults age 18 and older and through Saturday, Aug. 13, for children and teens from birth through age 19. Prizes will be awarded. Registration is available online, or participants may stop by the library for materials and more details.
The library offers several ongoing programs. Morning Yoga will take place at 9 a.m. on Fridays. Astronomy Enthusiasts of Lancaster County will discuss "Lunar Observing" with Les Baker at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6. Knitting Club, for knitters and crocheters, will gather from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday, July 18, and from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26. Technology Talk will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 7. Tai Chi Easy will be offered at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12. Great Decisions Discussion Group will gather at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13. The Painting Club will meet at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, July 13 and 27.
Ongoing programs will continue with the Writing Club at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 18, and a Jane Austen Society meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19. The Genealogy Club will gather at 6:30 p.m. on July 27. BYOB - Bring Your Own Book (Club) will gather to discuss current reading choices of attendees at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 28.
Rizzetta's Tones will perform an indoor concert at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 16. The Celtic American band will share its repertoire of music from Ireland, Scotland, and the United States, drawing as well from the traditions of Finland, Brazil, France, Macedonia, and other lands. Registration will open on Friday, July 1.
Lititz Historical Foundation will present "The Lancaster and York County Connection" at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 23. This program will discuss similarities between the White Rose and Red Rose cities, including architecture, industry, religion, and more. Seating is limited. Online registration will begin on Friday, July 8.
Jamie O'Brien and the Launies will present an outdoor backyard concert at 6:30 p.m. on July 28. The band plays songs originating from England and Ireland, with accompaniment on fiddle, mandolin, guitar, and more. Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair. Online registration will open on Thursday, July 14. In the case of inclement weather, the concert will be moved indoors and only those who have registered will be seated inside.
The Lititz Public Library's summer StoryWalk is "Shine!" by Patrick McDonnell.
Pirate Adventure: Lost at Sea will begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20, and is open to children in kindergarten through grade five.
H2 Oh!: The Water Magic Show will take place on Monday, July 25, at 10 a.m. for people of all ages. Magician Mike Rose will present a magic show and comedy themed around water, with audience participation and references to children's books.
Story Time with Hank: Sensations! will be held on July 28 at 10 a.m. Participants will discover the language of sensations in this interactive program with Hank the Health Hero.
