The Roaming Readers Walking Club will meet on Mondays, Nov. 4 and 11, and Wednesdays, Nov. 6 and 13, at 9 a.m. After meeting outside in front of the library, the group will walk around the library neighborhood and talk about books for 30 minutes.
Knitting Club will meet on Mondays, Nov. 4 and 18, from 10 a.m. to noon. The program is not a class or instruction time, but a friendly gathering where people work on knitting projects. Attendees must bring their own supplies. Crocheters are also welcome.
Astronomy Enthusiasts of Lancaster County will meet on Nov. 6 at 6:30 p.m. Attendees will learn what is in the night sky and more.
The Lititz Garden Club will meet on Thursday, Nov. 7, at 6:30 p.m. Deven Barto will present "Winter Vegetable Gardening."
Medicare Open Enrollment Counseling Sessions will be offered from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27. The counseling is free and available from unbiased counselors through APPRISE, a free health insurance counseling program. The Lititz Historical Foundation will feature hex sign artist Eric Claypoole on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 1:30 p.m. Claypoole is a second-generation folk artist hailing from Berks County. He restores barn stars and also paints hex signs, which are colorful Pennsylvania German symbols that originally date to the 1700s.
Scrabble Meet-Ups, for which attendees are asked to bring their own boards, will take place on Monday, Nov. 11, from 1 to 3 p.m. and on Tuesday, Nov. 26, from 6 to 8 p.m.
During its meeting on Nov. 11 at 6:30 p.m., the History Book Club will discuss "A Time of Gifts" by Patrick Leigh Fermor.
The Painting Club will meet on Wednesdays, Nov. 13 and 27, at 12:30 p.m. Attendees should bring their own painting supplies. The group usually meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month to paint and socialize.
The Great Decisions Discussion Group will meet on Nov. 13 at 6:30 p.m. Those interested in foreign affairs are invited to join this moderated, nonpartisan discussion group.
The Lancaster Civil War Roundtable will meet on Thursday, Nov. 14, at 6:30 p.m. Alann D. Schmidt and Terry W. Barkley will present "September Mourn: The Dunker Church of Antietam Battlefield."
The Jane Austen Society will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 6:30 p.m. Attendees are invited to enjoy a cup of tea and discuss all things Austen.
A concert by Break From Blue Collar will take place on Thursday, Nov. 21, with preregistration available starting two weeks before the event. The group features tenor Zach Bailey, lead Ben Hallowell, baritone Tyler Hart, and bass Shaun Ressler.
Buckhill Sleuths Book Club at New Holland ELANCO Library will discuss "Catch Me" by Lisa Gardner on Monday, Nov. 25, at 2 p.m.
The Lititz Art Association will host Kim Bleacher presenting "Making Art From Metal" on Tuesday, Nov. 26, at 6:30 p.m.
Kilene Knitter, Giant Food Stores nutritionist, will offer free children's cooking classes, which will provide youngsters with basic skills needed to create a balanced snack. Mini Chef Creations, geared toward children age 5 and under, will be offered on Friday, Nov. 1, at 10 a.m., and Junior Chef Creations, geared toward 6- to 9-year-olds, has been set for Monday, Nov. 18, at 4 p.m. Space is limited for both classes, and registration is required.
$immy's Money and Savings Story Time will be presented by Wheatland Federal Credit Union on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 4 p.m. In this financial literacy storytime, Wheatland's mascot, $immy, and his handler will read "Berenstain Bears Dollars and Sense." Each child will receive a free book. The program is geared toward children ages 6 to 9, and preregistration is requested.
November's Family Story Time has been set for 10 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 15 and 16. Attendees may meet Lucy Cousins' storybook costume character, Maisy. The family event will include Maisy stories, activities, and a time for photos with Maisy. Children of all ages and abilities are welcome with an adult. Registration will begin Nov. 1.
Spanish Story Time, for children ages 3 to 9, will be presented by Warwick High School's Spanish National Honor Society at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23. Children will hear stories, learn songs, and do fingerplays in Spanish.
Cruise Into Kindergarten, geared toward children ages 3 to 6, is set for Monday, Nov. 25, at 6:30 p.m. The Pennsylvania early literacy program is based on the national Every Child Ready to Read program. After hearing a story, children and their caregivers will visit different stations that will help with skills needed to start school. The program will be held monthly.
